Thanks Dave for the info on the Fresco. well what can I say about today(sat), started off early 6.45am heading north to Leicester. Called in at Lee`s (Jim`s friend). After some banter and a cup of tea, it was a two minute walk to that well known engine tunning guru Harry Barlow, dropping off Jim`s engine casing. Back to Lee`s for s bite to eat and more tea. Thanks to Mr and Mrs Lee for the much appreciated hospitality. Then the three of us headed into Brum to Gran sport. Once again more banter and an enjoyable afternoon pondering over scooter`s. We got back to Harry`s late afternoon where Harry was still hard at it. We were invited to stay and view what was going on . I can`t explain what a mind boggling mathematical lesson using charts and computer programs to do engine tuning /porting followed by the man himself carrying out the practical side. What he`s done: Welded up the outer part of the throat, giving more gasket surface area and allowing the casing to go to stage 5. Using a SR type cylinder which he recommends, port and modify to stage 5. Re profile the head to suit. Rebuild a new crank using a 116mm Yamaha large pin con rod, using quality bearings both ends, 60mm crank. Suzuki piston. A new mag flange using F.A.G. bearings and double lipped viton seals (throughout engine). A 25mm Dell`Orto carb and manifold jetted to suit. All calculations were added up and Jim should have an engine of 193cc with loads of torque. We left Harry`s at 8.30pm, what a day! Dave ,glad you had a great day,i'm sure all the tea was the best thing of the day,was a nice ride out to Dez's ,sorry if my driving scared you ,all the best for now, Lee G

Forks. Usual refurb stuff apart from progressive springs. Links refurbished(plated)and phosphor bronze bushes made. Brackets? The bolt along with the fold (rear of bracket) act like end stops, the bracket will not move up or down when its on the spindle, if the hub nut comes loose. The small hole locates the tang of the tab washer, to lock the front hub nut. If you agree/ disagree or have a opinion on what you have seen your comments would be welcomed, if you have got a project big or small or even just an idea post it. The more people that contribute the better this thread (more interesting) it will be.

Not much progress ...... but a step forward. Have had the forks in out and 'several' times now , but should be ok at last. The Eibar is MOT'd again so I can take the engine out of the GP to put back in the project. Got a seat made shorter so I can retain the sprint rack .....and not cover the badge area. This is a nice seat ....... I was tempted .......
