Paul i presume and hope thats a remade panel!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes it is Dave im painting up the original as well while im at it. The hole looks neater now, finished off wit half round file and managed to get a little rubber trim to finish it off. The remade panel was bought from Lambretta Body Bits advertising in Scootering. Fitted reasonably, had to do a bit of bending here and there. Hopefully wont fall off. BTW the reason for the panel falling off was the panel handel snapped, thats the later plastic type. Re the engine 700 miles done now since rebuild, just put 5 plate clutch in and messed with the gearing, changed to 17-46 with 81 link chain, nice speed on flat but struggles a bit on a gradient when revs drop. The JL likes revs as you know. Paul

the latest in a long line of problems hitting the S3 not 100% sure what has happend but looks like there was some flywheel play and now I'm waiting for.... new crank, flywheel, bearing ETC ETC ETC Mike look on the bright side...................... how boring it would be if your Lambretta was reliable like one of those awful new scooters. No fun in that. Im sure you get immense pleasure from stripping that engine, rebuilding and kicking it up again................and away you go. Paul. Btw what brought that problem to light, I suppose a small amount at the crank/centre of the flywheel is lot on the timing. Was it so far retarded there was a lack of power ?

i am also running 17-46 with a pacemaker gearbox and find top speed good but prefer 16-46 more fun when using B roads and country roads. Did you strengthen the JL? if not keep an eye on it for cracking. If you feel the performance start dropping or more vibration best to check it. Great exhaust for performance but does crack easy.

Re the JL dave , only prob to date was the mount splitting and losing a bolt on the can to pipe. Might look out for a diffent gearbox then.
Have you seen ' NEW ' LI 150 boxes advertised on E bay ? I suppose they are indian. Saw a pacemaker box on e bay a few weeks ago but let it go.

Gave up on the 17 sprocket 81 link with the SX200 Box, just couldnt get into fourth on anything other than a level road
Reverted back to 15 80 link
Also had a prob with the 5 plate clutch, on removal found the thimble worn down dont know if that was my adjustment or what but got the 4 plate back in , will have a look at that after afew miles.
